Re: Sidekick Question

You are responsible for your security system so if you program your panel in such a way that you generate thousands of alarm signals in a month then the overage charges will surely apply. You would probably be contacted by the central station way before that happened as they would shut you down if t...

EVL4 Local Webservice Tricks and Hacks

For a while now DIY users have been "hacking" the local interface on the Envisalink to operate like a simple webservice. The 1.4.X firmware on the EVL4 extends some of the known "services" and gives home IoT tinkerers a few more options. Below is a list I received from Envisacor ...

Re: Sidekick Question

I recall one of the engineers saying it was 64 bytes for an alarm message. That is roughly 1000 alarms signals a month assuming the "acknowledgement" is also 64 bytes. I think you're fine.

On the main screen of the app, not the details page, there is a small circular arrow icon on the upper right-hand portion of the screen. This will completely log you out of the app, and anyone else you shared it with.

Sort of. The next generation Envisalink is called the Envisalink DUO and it is a dual-path communicator with both Ethernet and LTE. It will be available in the summer of 2021.

Re: Alarm Offline

With respect, the Envisalink showing OFFLINE means it is offline with the Internet. It has nothing to do with a missing EOL resistor.

Re: Sidekick Question

Hi, its called a backup as the Envisalink will always try to communicate over its Ethernet interface first but if it doesn't work it will use the Sidekick instead. So I guess yes, you can think of it as the primary if there was no other path. Monitoring over LTE is limited to alarms and O/Cs.
